Job Summary:
We are seeking a Computer System Export Specialist with expertise in VMware vCenter Converter to manage the export, migration, and optimization of virtual machines. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in P2V (Physical to Virtual) and V2V (Virtual to Virtual) conversions, troubleshooting system compatibility, and optimizing performance. Additionally, this role requires basic troubleshooting of applications and databases and the ability to document workflows for efficient system migrations.
Key Responsibilities:
Utilize VMware vCenter Converter to export, migrate, and convert physical and virtual machines across diverse environments.
Perform P2V (Physical to Virtual) and V2V (Virtual to Virtual) conversions with high efficiency.
Troubleshoot compatibility issues, performance bottlenecks, and VM conversion failures to ensure seamless migration.
Optimize disk formats, network configurations, and storage allocation to enhance VM performance.
Collaborate with cloud engineers, system administrators, and IT teams to facilitate smooth system exports and integrations.
Conduct basic troubleshooting for applications and databases post-migration to ensure operational stability.
Prepare workflow documentation for applications, detailing migration steps, dependencies, and troubleshooting procedures.
Maintain accurate documentation of conversion processes, configurations, and troubleshooting steps.
Ensure adherence to data security policies, system integrity, and organizational compliance standards during migration.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Proven experience using VMware vCenter Converter Standalone for system migrations.
- Strong knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, Hyper-V, and cloud-based environments.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux OS migrations and system architecture.
- Ability to troubleshoot networking issues, disk I/O performance, and storage configurations.
- Basic understanding of database and application troubleshooting in migration scenarios.
- Experience in workflow documentation and process mapping.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work under tight deadlines.
